Joshua L. Benson

Joshua Benson is an associate in the Litigation Department and practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation, civil rights defense and personal injury defense.  Mr. Benson's litigation practice includes, but is not limited to: business torts (such as breach of fiduciary duty, interference with contractual and economic relationships, fraud, conspiracy, etc.); equitable and extraordinary relief (including injunctive relief, unjust enrichment, etc.); contract disputes (including breach of commercial contracts); insurance defense (including personal injury defense); defamation law (including slander and libel for both public and private figures); and, civil rights defense (including claims brought under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 for violations of constitutional rights).  In addition, Mr. Benson has both prosecuted and defended complex litigation matters involving business, construction and equitable matters as well as defended civil rights claims brought under 42 U.S.C. Prior to joining Marquis Aurbach Coffing, Mr. Benson clerked for the Honorable Robert C. Jones, United States District Court, District of Nevada.  Mr. Benson graduated magna cum laude from the William S. Boyd School of Law.  While in law school, he served as Nevada Law Editor for the Nevada Law Journal and traveled to San Francisco to participate in the ABA National Moot Court Competition as a member of the Society of Advocates, receiving an award for third best brief among the nearly one hundred competitors.

Mr. Benson spends most of his spare time with his wife, Kara, and their children, Brooklyn, Brady, Cooper and Kinley. His other interests include playing tennis and golf.
