Sally L. Galati

Ms. Galati's areas of practice include real estate and corporate transactions, along with acting as Vice Chair of the firm's Energy and Natural Resources Department.

Ms. Galati obtained her bachelor of science in electrical engineering degree from the University of Idaho. She received her juris doctor degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. Ms. Galati served as Notes Editor of the Nevada Law Journal, and earned CALI awards in Legal Writing; Professional Responsibility; Wills, Trusts & Estates; and Intellectual Property.

Prior to joining Marquis Aurbach Coffing, Ms. Galati worked as a prosecutor for the city of Las Vegas. While in law school, she completed externships for the Honorable James C. Mahan and the United States Attorney's Office. Ms. Galati also worked as a research assistant in the areas of contracts and secured transactions.

Before attending law school, Ms. Galati worked as an engineer and was Vice President of Distribution for Nevada Power Company.

L.J. 587 (Winter 2004/2005) which was cited by Judge Posner of the 7th Circuit in Feinberg v. RM Acquisition, LLC, in January 2011, along with several contract and real estate related articles published in various real estate magazines and publications.

  • Transactional practice: Draft and negotiate contracts, leases, and real estate, business, and asset purchase and sale agreements; draft employment and independent contractor agreements and prepare and revise employment policies; structure merger and acquisition transactions; prepare loan finance and security agreements.
  • Corporate practice: Organize entities including corporations and limited liability companies; draft operating agreements, bylaws, and shareholder agreements; advise shareholders and directors on corporate governance issues; prepare shareholder and member buy-sell agreements.
  • Accomplishments include: Represented seller of $100M commercial property in Las Vegas; later drafted all documentation for deed in lieu transaction retaking property for same client; represented client in major mechanics’ lien litigation matter through negotiated settlement; prepared opinions and reviewed loan documents for numerous large commercial loan closings.
