William A. Levy
In 1989, Mr. Levy joined the firm, and also was selected as an honored member of Who’s Who in Practicing Attorneys. In 1993, Mr. Levy became a shareholder in the firm. In 1994, Mr. Levy authored: Nevada Divorce Law: An Attorney’s Guide. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Family Counseling Service. He currently serves as an arbitrator in the court annexed arbitration program. Mr. Levy received notoriety by receiving a $3,100,000 jury verdict in a case where 112 swimming pools cracked because of defective materials which were supplied to the client by one of its subcontractors. Along with obtaining this verdict, as well as actually collecting $3,250,000 for the client, Mr. Levy was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
While Mr. Levy practices law in the areas of litigation, corporate law, employment law, and real property law, his primary emphasis is in construction law. Mr. Levy has vast experience in representing his construction clients in all legal construction-related matters, on public and private projects, whether in the negotiation and drafting of effective construction-related documents, or in representing owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, subcontractors and/or suppliers in all stages of construction-related litigation matters.
Some of the legal services that Mr. Levy offers are as follows:
1) Drafting, reviewing, and modifying standard industry forms of construction management agreements, owner-architect agreements, owner-contractor agreements, owner-engineer agreements, owner-consultant agreements, subcontract agreements, and purchase orders for material and equipment.
2) Legal advice regarding the laws relating to state public works notices, federal Miller Act notices, and mechanics' lien procedures.
3) Prosecuting and defending construction disputes, including claims for breach of contract, defective work, defective design, delay and disruption, termination, back charges, change orders, construction failures, warranties, bid protests, mechanics' liens, bond and insurance issues, as well as Nevada State Contractors Board complaints.
